One of our favourite offerings from the Spring Ransom x Adidas footwear collection is now also one of the best deals in the store. All colourways of the Bluff are marked down 40%, taking them from $140 down to $85.
The Bluff features design elements from both a sneaker and boat shoe. While the mocc toe and boat sole are familiar, subtle details like 4 lace eyelets and a heel pull tab separate the Bluff from more traditional offerings. The buttery soft leather means, unlike most boat shoes, no break in period is required.

This season we partnered with our friends Robert and Linda from Still Design to showcase a few pieces of their impressive collection here in shop. All of the pieces featured will be available for purchase in store. First up is an Eames Fiberglass Shell Chair and a selection of vintage Made in England Hudson’s Bay blankets. New pieces will be featured regularly so be sure to pop in and see what’s new.

I’ve personally been on the hunt for a good backpack for a little while now, so I was particularly excited to check out the BLK Pine Slope Day Pack when our shipment arrived last week. The bag is constructed out of American sourced 18 oz. duck canvas and 1000 denier nylon and put together by hand in Seattle, WA. The thing that separates this bag from other backpacks for me is the slimmed down shape. At 14″ x 18″ x 4″ this Day Pack is big enough to house a laptop (up to 16″), some reading material, a beverage or two and a few extra layers, without making it look like you are hitting the trail for a week. We also have the bag available in Red which looks great, but for me the Navy is the more versatile option. Either option should age wonderfully as the Natural Canvas and Leather accents break in and darken up a bit.

Designed and produced in Vancouver, Broken English is the most recent project from custom jewelery designer and goldsmith Rexford Lavado. Subtitled Novel Artifacts, the line features pendants, tie clips, lapel pins and other accessories made of silver and oxidized silver. Rex and partner Lindsay Rankin have a knack for choosing common objects and familiar images that have attained a certain cultural relevance and symbolism: a paper airplane, a comb, a chipped tea cup.
Our current selection of pendants includes paper airplanes of various size and an incredibly detailed shotgun with a gold filled barrel. We are proud to be one of the select few Broken English stockists and are excited to see the line grow.

The long awaited restock of Portland General Store has arrived. For those of you not yet familiar, “PGS is a small company that makes its personal care products by hand, in small batches, using basic and natural ingredients”.
Their shaving products, hair care, and fragrances have already become favourites in the shop. This time around we have expanded our offerings to include soap, body creme, and smelling salts. In addition to the always popular Whiskey and Tobacco scents, we now have fragrances in Palo Santo, Moss, Cardamom, and Wood as well.

This Spring we were lucky enough to get our hands on a few styles from Vancouver based National Anthem. Previously exclusive to Japan, ourselves and Inventory are currently the only North American stockists.
The Pocket Tee features a ribbed collar with gusset and a single chest flap pocket with anchor button. The Sailor Shirt has the slightly boxy fit and barely cropped sleeve of a classic Breton top, but opts for a traditional crew neck instead of the wider boat variation. Both shirts are made of heavy cotton jersey and are available in both of the colourways featured above.

A few copies of photographer Todd Selby’s first book, The Selby is in Your Place, have just arrived in the shop. The book showcases the personal living and work spaces of artists, designers, and other general creative types. The photos are accompanied by illustrations, handwritten notes and brief interviews, giving the whole project a truly personal feel. The Selby is in Your Place makes a fantastic coffee table book, but is also a reliable reference whenever your life needs a little extra inspiration.
